The 2016 Irish Famine Summer School will take place from 14th-19th June 2016. The theme is 'From Famine to Freedom', acknowledging the momentous centenary of the 1916 Rising. Booking is now available!
The Irish Famine Summer School is a joint initiative between the Irish National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park House, Roscommon County Council and the Strokestown Community Development Association.
The Summer School and the weekend Famine conference allows delegates to engage with some of the world’s leading experts on the Great Famine. The conference takes place in the unique surroundings of Strokestown Park House and delegates have access to the Irish National Famine Museum. A lively social programme allows delegates to visit the surrounding area and enjoy traditional entertainment in this beautifully preserved heritage town.
